“Matt Donovan (Zach Roerig) is still a character on The Vampire Diaries despite the fact he hasn’t gotten a decent storyline in a very long time…”
The thing about hope is how often it is crushed: that’s where we sate this important caveat, when it comes to hoping that Matt gets a better storyline: if we start making demands, it’s like the Universe whispers into the ears of VD’s writers, and they kill off the only human still trying to get along in the Vampire Diaries.
I’ll give away the first trait, but the rest you’ll have to check out the source link for: Matt is the only working class character. Totally true: everyone else is middle class, rich, or living off their steady fund of money left by dead relatives. Matt’s the only guy who actually has to work in order to survive. It’s been touched upon but rarely put into real focus, the fact that everyone else is a coddled rich kid, while Matt is a bartender with a dysfunctional, mostly non-existent family.
