Having discussed my initial discovery of WOLF’S MUSEUM OF MYSTERY in Saint Augustine, Florida, and my initial reticence to go inside (look, I had a headache, okay?), what, then, does the M.O.M. have to offer, of the vampire variety? For one thing—though this isn’t actually a good thing—the movie playing in the upstairs theater (available for private parties—call the number at the link below) was QUEEN OF THE DAMNED, one of the worst vampire flicks I’ve ever been unfortunate enough to see. (The theater itself is pretty damn awesome, with a widescreen HD TV and speakers, and popcorn machine with complimentary popcorn for guests to sample.) Far more impressive to me than their current choice of film was the “vampire killing kit” located downstairs. Unlike the ones you see for sale on eBay, this one looked authentic. If not, it was at least a much better fake than most.
WOLF’S MUSEUM OF MYSTERY is a hodgepodge of strangeness, equal parts museum, garage sale (if all the items were Horror-related), art gallery, and haunted house. If you’re ever in the area, make sure you stop by for a visit. At only five bucks a ticket, it’s the best entertainment value around. Tell ‘em the Cheezman sent you. WOLF’S has just released a short movie, in hopes of enticing someone to make a longer one. Check it out at the link below. If a picture is worth a thousand words, I figure this movie mini is worth about a hundred articles, right? Here’s hoping some producer or filmmaker takes the bait. We need more M.O.M. in our world!
