Bonnie’s Mom Returning to The Vampire Diaries to Work Some Magic

In the last episode of The Vampire Diaries, “Do Not Go Gentle,” all hell broke loose in Mystic Falls. There was an overabundance of drama in every direction, but more importantly than anything else in that episode was Esther turning Alaric into a vampire slaying monster – with the help of a possessed Bonnie. Things aren’t looking good for anyone, even blood drained Bonnie, but things are about to change. According to an interview with Persia White, Bonnie’s vampire mama, Abby will return to help her daughter work some magic (even though she has none of her own).

While Abby returning to Bonnie is a surprise, it’s not the only one. When asked how Abby is accepting her vampirism, Persia shared that there is more to it than we know. “I hope she learns to accept it because I would love to see her interact with some of the other characters who’ve come to a good place with it, like Caroline. Although I don’t know if it can ever be complete peace because there is so much history.” said Persia. “Coming up, you’ll see Abby explain some things that you didn’t know before. There’s more going on there than you think. She’s pretty torn up inside.” she added.

As for returning to help Bonnie with some magical goodness, Persia explained “Abby helps Bonnie in a pretty pivotal way that involves witchcraft in these last episodes. I know Abby isn’t in a stable place but her help causes some twists that lead to the big events of the season finale. They’re heavily influenced by the problems Abby is helping Bonnie with.”

Hmmm… I wonder what magical plan they have up their sleeves this time. What do you think?

The next Vampire Diaries episode, “Before Sunset,” will air May 3rd at 8 p.m. on The CW. Check out the “Before Sunset” promo below.
