How can any reasonable stable human being consider Twilight a good series with good characters? Belle is a total emo whiny co-dependent selfish bitch. How you women defend and even ADMIRE belle is beyond me. I've never seen a woman more selfish and insulting than that. Were I a woman I'd be insulted. She is so dependent on the man (or the alleged man that is Edward) that when she can't have him, she goes batshit insane. She has no pride or dignity and when she goes on her suicidal hissy fit, she thinks nothing of the people that will be hurt by her decisions. She cares nothing of her father and all the shit he has to go through because of her. How she comes home beaten and bruised and offers only lies to his honest concern. Or how she collapses in the woods and her father ends up alerting the whole town so as to find her body. Then she just winds up home and again offers no explanation for her behavior. She cares nothing for the people she's using and who's hearts she's breaking. No she makes decisions instead that cause a bloody war between the vampires and the wolves! And why? Why does she leave all this destruction in her wake? Because she's denied her favorite toy. Instead of moving on and doing what's right, she tramples all over peoples lives just to get what she wants, like some petulant child. And THIS is the woman you admire? THIS is the character you look towards as a role model!? THIS?? SEEK HELP. And really what more does their romance have than sex and proclamations of 'love'? There is no substance behind their relationship. Why does she love him? Why does he love her? What qualities do they rely on and admire about the other? What do they love to do together? Wheres the basis for their relationship? This is never explained. All they are like is 'oooohhh I neeed yooouu!' but why? 'because we loooove each other!' But why? No explanation. Talk about a shallow and shitty romance. I'm a romance buff... But you have to actually give me one with characters that are good and you have to do better than this.
