First Breaking Dawn: Part 2 Trailer to Debut Before Hunger Games

Every Twilight fan is dying to see the trailer for the final Twilight film, Breaking Dawn Part 2, and I know just where and when you can see it, unfortunately you have to wait a little over a month.

The first trailer for The Twilight Saga’s Breaking Dawn Part 2 will be revealed on March 23. Lionsgate Films, the new owners of the Twilight franchise, confirmed that the highly anticipated sneak peek of the final installment from the Twilight Saga film series is set to be screened right before the much awaited The Hunger Games flick.

In an announcement this past Friday (Feburary 10), Lionsgate’s chief executive Jon Feltheimer said, “The Twilight Saga’s Breaking Dawn Part 2 trailer will debut exclusively on every Hunger Games print on its opening night for what will be Lionsgate’s largest release ever.” This strategy was made to gain a massive base of Twi-hards to the opening weekend of Hunger Games, which will arrive in U.S. theaters on March 23.

During the Friday conference call, Feltheimer said that he was confident the combination of Breaking Dawn 2 and The Hunger Games will generate “highly visible” gross for the studio. He said, “Now we have a strong pipeline of young-adult franchises.”

Not a bad financial plan, Hunger Games is going to bring in a LOT of people to theaters and so will Breaking Dawn, so it’s a perfect combo and a great idea for the trailer debut.

For those new to The Hunger Games, the upcoming film is based on a HUGELY popular young adult trilogy by Suzanne Collins. So far, the book has sold over a million copies, so yeah, super popular. In the novel, the Hunger Games are an annual televised event where the ruthless Capitol randomly selects one boy and one girl from each of the twelve districts, pitting them against each other in a game of survival where they are forced to kill each other until only one remains as the victor.

It may not have vampires in it, but I have heard nothing but good things about this series. Check out the first book here.

So there you have it, if you want to be one of the first to see the Breaking Dawn Part 2 trailer you have to buy a movie ticket and check out The Hunger Games on March 23.

Anyone going to watch The Hunger Games? If so, is it because you want to see the Breaking Dawn trailer or because you love Hunger Games?

I have to admit the only reason I bought hunger games was because I had been told about a possible film & I am so glad I read them they may not have vampires but for what it lacks in supernatural it makes up for in an amazing story. So yeah I will be going to see the hunger games regardless off the twilight trailer…

“The Hunger Games” novel is basically an ‘extended, post-apocalyptic’ version of Shirley Jackson’s 1948 short story, “The Lottery”, with a little “Death Race 2000″ (the 1975 original) and “The Running Man” thrown in for good measure.

Which means I can’t wait to see the movie version!

A trailer with the cool version of Bella >;^) is icing on the cake.

Marketing-wise, this is a match made in heaven.

Before someone gets on my case, the “Hunger Games” plot is an inverse of “The Lottery”. Instead of one person selected to die (as in “The Lottery”), one person is selected to live. Appropriate for Hunger Games’ post-apocalyptic setting.

Also reminiscent of George Orwell’s “1984”:
“You are the dead. Remain exactly where you are. Make no moves until you are ordered.”

The second I heard about the Hunger Games I thought of The Lottery! Haha. That story was so depressing, I hated my school teacher for making me read it. I’m glad I read it now, but back then I was none too pleased.
