Ghouls, Demons, Vampires of Philippine Folklore in Survival Horror Game “Nightfall”

Nightfall is a first-person survival horror game from the Philippines and filled with the country’s mythical monsters.

I looooove horror video games, and it’s about time for something with vampires that was not necessarily marketed as just another RPG for dudes, –not that Skyrim isn’t like, a total wet dream, but the vampires are such a subplot, –same with Fallout 3. Anyway, this game focuses a lot more on all the scary things that come out at night, with a twist:

All of these monsters are Filipino, and are straight out of native folklore nightmares. You’re basically playing a journalist, kind of like Outlast, and you investigate a haunted house, located in Northern Luzon, Philippines, in a location where people are often reported missing. Ara is trying to determine what happened to the family who owned the home before, and one wrong move in the maze-like house can kill her. You can catch the beta version on Steam Greenlightlinks in the source article, –and there are a lot of improvements to be made yet to the game, due to be released toward the end of the year.
