It was only a couple of weeks ago that I posted my glowing review of DRACULA: LORD OF THE DAMNED, the neon-flashy, bite-taking, refreshingly frenetic but suitably subtextually grounded interpretation of the classic Dracula story by writer/director/star Theodore Trout. The film is a must-see for all vampire marks, and has, and deservedly so, been accepted into the INTERNATIONAL VAMPIRE FILM AND ARTS FESTIVAL, which will be held on May 25th through the 28th, in Romania, of course. Where else?
Mr. Trout has been invited to appear, but unfortunately the festival organizers can’t pay for his travel to and from the event. He is asking for our help. Mr. Trout is on permanent disability, as I only learned recently, for TBI, or Traumatic Brain Injury. He can’t afford out-of-pocket the cost of attending the film festival for both himself and a caregiver, and has started a gofundme page to help get him there. He’s only asking for $6000, which is, relatively speaking, a meager sum, compared to what some of those gofundme programs ask for and manage to raise. Give the guy a hand, won’t you? If everyone who reads this would donate just a few bucks, he’d have far more than what he requires to make the trip. Let’s make this happen, people!
