Homeless Vampire Bomber… No, Really, It’s True!
In Seattle, just a day after Judge Anne Harper told a mentally disturbed homeless man, Vladimir Augustine, that he seemed to be doing much better, the aforementioned lunatic strolled into Union Gospel Mission, announced he was a vampire and that he had a bomb. Fortunately, for all present, the bomb threat was fake.
From King 5 in Seattle:
"Charging papers say last Friday, Vladimir Augustine entered the Union Gospel Mission and said he was a vampire with a bomb who wanted to make a meal of everyone there. Just the day before, Vladimir was before a judge, complaining that his medication wasn't working very well.
Superior Court Judge Anne Harper said he looked like he was "doing much better" mental-health-wise than when she saw him the previous week.
"It looks like you're doing much better and I don't want you using any drugs or alcohol or we'll have to do the (mental) evaluation in the King County Jail, you understand that?" she tells him.
"Yes," he replies.
"Alright, you're doing very well. Thank you," Harper says and schedules him to appear before her a week later for further evaluation.
Less than 24 hours later, Augustine was arrested and charged with making a threat with a fake bomb. The threat led to an evacuation at the Union Gospel Mission and a lockdown at the King County Courthouse.
Augustine told police he did it because he needed help. He was taken to Harborview Medical Center, then booked into the King County Jail.
Augustine is homeless and is being held on $150,000 bail."
I don't know what's more disturbing; the fact that this actually happened, that it was possibly tied to vampire pop-culture's influence on the mentally disturbed, --or the fact that a Superior Court Judge ignored his complaint that his medication wasn't working. Probably that last bit; if we can't depend on our courts to recognize an obvious problem, then who is to blame when an incident like this occurs? A man trying his best to make a cry for help in court the day before is ignored by the judge. And now, a homeless 'vampire' is held for a bail that there's no way he can pay? Please, someone write a note to this bitch: send him back to the hospital for some actual treatment.
