How to Survive These 6 Types of Chinese Vampires

“There are stories legends of vampires and zombies everywhere, here’s a look at what these creatures are like according to Chinese stories and legends.”

All the undead, are primarily referred to as one major type of vampire in China: Jiangshi.

1. White haired Jiangshi: Most harmless, covered in tiny white hairs, and afraid of nearly everything. …Until they’ve fed on enough rodents, over a period of years, until they become…

2. Black haired Jiangshi: More aggressive, hunt humans at night, less fearful, and covered in tiny black hairs.

3. Jumping Jiangshi: After the hair falls off, the Jiangshi begins hopping and jumping to get around, and is no longer averse to sunlight.

4. Flying Jiangshi: move very quickly…. essentially, they are “ninja vampires” –they can feed without leaving a mark. And in a few centuries, they become…

5. Ba: Demons who causes plagues, droughts…. and then after thousands of years… they become…

6. Demon King: Stoppable only by Goku, and his mates from DBZ.

To defeat them, you can use a weapon made of peach tree wood; you can buy swords made from peach wood on eBay. Roosters are good too, most jiangshi are afraid of them, because they crow and signal the morning. Fire is also excellent, very simple, classic. Anything dies if you set it on fire, including Chinese vampires.

More traditional methods can also be used, such as using the Bagua, the Daoist cosmology symbols representing reality; in the same thread, jiangshi can also be battled by reading the I Ching, or Book of Changes. Daoist incantations on paper, sticky rice, mirrors, and thread stained with black ink, the blood of a black dog, a sword made from ancient coins, handbells, brooms… or, you can hold your breath. According to myth, if you hold your breath, jiangshi can’t see you. Video is awesome, btw, lots of great information!
