Is Tara Really Never Returning to True Blood?

Warning: There are True Blood season 4 spoilers below!
Now that the friendly warning is out of the way, I can get to the big Tara news. It looks like she may not be returning in season 5, although nothing has been confirmed yet.
As I’m sure we all remember, season 4 ended with Tara getting shot in the head by Alcide’s psychotic girlfriend Debby. After seeing her brains get blown out most of us assumed that Tara was gone for good, but then people began to speculate that maybe that wasn’t so, that maybe someone (like a vampire) would come swooping in to heal her. Well, it looks like Tara just may be gone for good seeing how the actress that plays her, Rutina Wesley, has been signed onto another show. Does that mean no more True Blood for her?
According to reports, the hit zombie show The Walking Dead has snagged Rutina Wesley for the role of the highly anticipated Michonne character. Michonne wields a Katana sword and has two jawless and armless zombies that she brings around with her. She’s a pretty badass character, way better than Tara in my opinion. Fans of the show can expect to see her in the season 2 finale, episode 13. It’s rumored that she will be back for season 3, but as of right now, that’s a big rumor. However, if it’s true and she is returned as a recurring role, then it’s possible she won’t be back on True Blood. Can an actor do two big shows at once? I guess it depends entirely on timing and when each show is filmed.
Now, it has been said that Tara will return to True Blood. So it’s possible that Rutina will do both shows. Who knows, maybe they’ll make Tara a ghost or have her turned into a vampire or something.
What do you think? Do you think that she can manage a recurring role on two hugely popular shows? Do you even want Tara to return? I know a lot of Trubies hate Tara, so it may not be a huge loss if she goes for good. What are your theories on her return – ghost, vampire, some other magical thing?

Even if Tara is dead, she’ll still be on the show. Making her a vampire could be so awful it might actually be good. Likewise, with Lafayette’s newfound ghostly powers, I think he’ll keep seeing Jesus and Tara. But even if none of that happens, they’ll still work her in with flashbacks. If the season four finale proved anything about this show, it’s that characters you thought (or just plain hoped) were gone will keep popping up.
Now that LaFayette is a confirmed medium, it’s likely that both Jesus and Tara will be occasionally in episodes as ghosts, but not as tangible people. This is totally different from the books, in which, Tara marries a guy closely fitting Hoyt’s description and she runs a boutique called Tara’s Togs out of town, and is still friends with Sookie throughout all of the 10 books. (Of course, in the books, LaFayette is dead by book 2, and everyone loves him in the show.) I think this is a neat twist on the show and keeps fans of the books guessing since I didn’t expect to see Tara killed. I think we can expect to see Tara again in season 5 (I know someone who will be joining the crew of True Blood, so I can ask) but not as a major character, and as a ghost.
