Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson Dish on Big ‘Breaking Dawn’ Sex Scene
After months and months of waiting The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 is coming to theaters this Friday (November 18) and fans will finally get to see the big scene they have been building up in their minds for so long – the honeymoon sex scene. Admit it, it’s been on your mind more than once. Luckily Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson shared a few inside goodies on the big scene. Not as good as watching the sexy moment itself, but it’ll tide you over for a few days until you get the chance to view it with your very own lust-hungry eyes.
"For me, it really reflects what I felt when I was reading the book."
Since Stephenie Meyer didn’t give her readers a full detailed play-by-play of what happened when the newlyweds got down and dirty, they pretty much had to just fill it in on their own with the use of their imagination. Or, as Kristen put it: "It's not in the book. It's totally what you imagine in between those chapters...it picks up right after and really indulges in memory."
When discussing the, uh, climactic moment, she explained that she and Robert Pattinson never actually shot a sex scene. Instead, says Kristen, "It's really like memories." As for the actual filming, Kristen said, "All close-ups."
So, there won’t be any actual sex scenes, just a few close-up shots. Although, according to Robert Pattinson and director Bill Condon, they did film a few hot and sexy scenes, but they were too sexy for a PG-13 rating so they had to be redone.
"The toughest part was avoiding an R-rating," Pattinson says. "It's funny when people talk about the sex scenes in the book because there are no sex scenes in the book. Go back and read. They always fade to black."
Director Bill Condon also spoke about the love scenes, saying it was "so much more about romance than it was about hot-and-heavy action."
So Twi-hards, are you excited about the big honeymoon scene?
