New Indie Film ‘Blood Angel’ On the Way

There’s a new vampire film on the way, a film titled Blood Angel, which was written and directed by high school student Ryan Stratton. I had to give this upcoming indie film some love for two reasons. One – because it’s made by high schoolers and is showing at an actual theater, which is pretty impressive for teens. And two – because, well, like the film makers, I am also from Michigan and I have to give it up for my fellow Michiganders. Yeah, I just busted out that ridiculous state pride. I guess nothing brings folks together like freezing winters, lots of lakes and vampires. Right? Yeeah… Onwards!

Blood Angel description:

“Since as early as the revolutionary war, vampires and their clans have lived among us, secretly fighting for control over the world in a war known as the Vampiric War. Among these clans, the Bruha and Vangrel are the largest and most apparent of them all. Selena is part of one of the last generations of Bruha, meaning her entire generation is being enlisted in schools in an attempt to integrate vampires into the human world. Once a dead body appears at her school, Selena enlists the help of her only true friend, a human named Jack, to investigate the killings. As the body count grows higher, Selena and Jack struggle to make sense of the horrific events unfolding around them in a race against time to discover the true evil behind the killings, and to end the great Vampiric War.”

Blood Angel will premiere August 30, 2012 at the Main Art Theater in Royal Oak, MI.  If you’re in the area you should check it out, you can RSVP to the premiere HERE. Who knows, this could be the next My Sucky Teen Romance, another film that was created by teens and is now heading to the big screen and DVD and Blu-ray.

Moonlight (aka Amanda) loves to write about, read about and learn about everything pertaining to vampires. You will most likely find her huddled over a book of vampire folklore with coffee in hand. Touch her coffee and she may bite you (and not in the fun way).
