Next Week on…THE STRAIN

That’s Carlton Cuse who does the voice-overs for the promos, isn’t it? The guy who says, “Previously on…THE STRAIN…” It must be cool to have such a rich, gravely voice. Myself, I have the perfect voice for writing. You’ve heard the expression “A face for radio,” right? It’s like that. My words sound better read silently than if I were reading them aloud to you. A writer’s voice. (You ever hear recordings of William Faulkner speaking? Or Robert Frost?) Yeah, I do on occasion find myself speaking before a group, or performing onstage; I’ve learned to fake a decent speaking voice for such occasions, but Cuse seems to be able to do it without trying. Of course he’s no James Earl Jones.

Anyway, imagine Cuse’s voice reading to you the title of this article. Via this link is an extended trailer (well, it’s longer than the one they showed at the end of the last episode, so in that sense it is “extended”) for the upcoming fifth episode of this season. (We’re up to five episodes already? Halfway through the season? Sheesh, time sure is flying!) The level of intensity appears to be holding steady—but this clip needs more Quinlan! And on a side note, where the hell is Palmer these days?
