Save the Bats
I doubt I need to explain to anyone here why bats are important and we need to keep them around. Likely the fact that they’re cool is more than sufficient reason for the likes of us, am I right, vampire fans? But for the benefit of those who don’t “get it,” allow me to be pragmatic: Bats eat mosquitoes. LOTS of mosquitoes. Mosquitoes have caused more human deaths worldwide and throughout history than any other living thing. Did you know that? Mosquitoes are bad, and bats help cull the numbers of mosquitoes, ergo bats are good. Bats are ALSO cool.
There’s this disease known as “White-Nosed Syndrome” that poses a real threat to the survival of bats. The last thing our furry, flying friends need is for us to allow greedy corporate types to further endanger them via unrestricted, rampant pollution of air and water. (And pollution of air and water isn’t too good for US, either.) Please sign this petition, and pass it along to your friends. Even if you don’t live in Pennsylvania, which is the area targeted by the movement in question, it’s still important that you make your voice heard. The bats need us. No big oil tycoon is gonna protect us from the skeeters. Or, y’know, cancer.
