Slay the Day Away with Buffy!

January 22 is the day to make some hot cocoa, plop yourself on your couch with a comfy blanket and spend the day relaxing because the Oxygen channel is having an ALL DAY Buffy the Vampire Slayer marathon! Hurray for a day of nothing but vampies!

From the official press release:

“In the mood for some butt kicking? Oxygen has the perfect solution with back-to-back episodes of hit series “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” premiering on January 22 from 10AM to 8PM ET/PT. Watch Buffy Summers battle the forces of darkness and survive the horrors of high school as she tries to protect the world from demonic forces. Learning algebra is tough enough without the added stress of slaying vampires during study breaks. Join Buffy and her band of misfits to relive the nail biting action and heartbreaking romance that created a cult following.”

This kickass marathon will feature fan favorite episodes from season three including:

“Faith, Hope and Trick”
A charismatic slayer visits Sunnydale and wins over many of Buffy’s friends. Simultaneously, two powerful vampires plot an attack.

“Homecoming”
As Buffy and Cordelia vie for the Homecoming Queen title, they are targeted by a group of killers participating in “SlayerFest ’98.”

“Band Candy”
Adults throughout Sunnydale begin behaving like immature teenagers after they ingest candy manufactured by the forces of evil.

“The Wish”
Cordelia’s wish for a Buffy-free Sunnydale comes true, plunging her into a world where vampires have control of the town.

“Bad Girls”
Faith inadvertently kills a mortal during a battle with a demon’s minions.

“Doppelgangland”
While casting a magic spell, Anya and Willow inadvertently summon Willow’s evil double from an alternate universe.

“Earshot”
Buffy fears she will descend into madness after she acquires the ability to read minds.

“The Prom”
After Angel breaks off their relationship, Buffy single-handedly battles three fearsome hell hounds so that her classmates can enjoy their senior prom.

“Graduation Day, Part 1”
In an effort to distract Buffy from Ascension, the mayor instructs Faith to poison Angel.

“Graduation Day, Part 2”
On Ascension Day, Buffy and her friends prepare for the ultimate battle as they face off against the mayor and a hoard of vampires.

That’s the lineup you have to look forward to! Season 3 isn’t my favorite of the 7 seasons, but it definitely has some awesome episodes, many of which are listed above. My personal favorite episode from the list is “Earshot,” so if you have to watch one of those it should totally be that one. It takes a deeper, more serious look into the darker emotions teens in high school feel, all while keeping with the classic Buffy humor. It’s an excellent episode!

Will you guys tune into the marathon? I won’t be, not because I don’t love Buffy, but because I own every single season already and have seen each episode more than once (obsession). Haha.
