If you have an X-Box 360 and want to kill some time then I suggest checking out The Adventures of Shuggy, a 360 arcade game that was just released this summer. Bring on the mindless entertainment!
The Adventures of Shuggy is a 2D platformer full of a variety of different levels and puzzles. There are about 100 levels connected through a gradually unlocking map screen which ensures that there are always loads of levels to choose from.
The game takes place in an old Scottish mansion recently inherited by young Shuggy, a cute cartoon vampire. To clear the mansion of the evil spirits that have taken over he must venture through the five different areas of the mansion, The Dungeon, The Boiler Room, The Gallery, The Graveyard and The Clocktower. Progress through the mansion is punctuated by comic book cut scenes and the occasional boss encounter. The game also has a selection of two player Co-Op levels, an online head-to-head mode and a turn based two player challenge mode that allows players to see who is best at the single player levels.
If I had a 360 I would probably play this, just because I like puzzle games that keep me amused for hours on end. However, I will never own the crap machine that is the 360.
Anyway, in spite of being a simple 360 arcade game it has some fairly decent reviews from top gamer sites:
Game Informer: 8.25/10
Vandal Online: 8/10
Inc Gamers: 9/10
GameSpot: 8/10
Thunderbolt Games: 6/10
Gamers Daily News: 8/10
Destructoid: 8/10
Gamer.nl: 7/10
Eurogamer: 8/10
We Got This Covered: 4/5
Those are damn good ratings for a little Arcade Live game. Have any of you played The Adventures of Shuggy? If so, is your rating as high as the ratings above or did you hate it? Let us know in a comment below.
