The Case of the Missing Japanese Black Garlic Anti-Vampire Doritos

When I’m hanging ten on the trusty Interwebs and I chance across something that would make for a good post for this site or one of our sister sites (werewolves.com, zombies.org, and topcomics.com), I add it to my favorites collection for later use. Such was the case when I chanced upon an article chronicling the release, just in time for Halloween, of black, garlic-flavored Doritos. However, the chips were being released only in Japan. What gives? I said to myself. Why does Japan get them but we don’t? Admittedly they may be yucky, as a little garlic goes a long way, and the idea of garlic-tasting corn chips doesn’t exactly set my mouth to watering, but still. Coolness factor, you know? Only when I went back to the link to pull up the article and type up this post—it had mysteriously vanished!

Okay, I figured, Doritos must have yanked the product. Nope. I found numerous articles regarding the subject, like this one here. I saved a picture from the article, in case it too disappears, just to prove that it existed. Are there vampires at work, trying to remove all references to this product from the www? Are they afraid the chips will catch on and Doritos will start selling them everywhere?
