The Possibly Not So Awesome Buffy Remake
If you are a hardcore, own every season, memorize half the lines, Buffy The Vampire Slayer fan like myself you were probably a bit excited when you heard that they were making another Buffy movie (even though the show wrapped up nicely). If you are also like me, I bet the moment you heard that our beloved television cast AND Joss Whedon would have no part in the new Buffy movie you were like “f--k that noise!” because that’s what I was thinking.
Fran Rubel Kuzui, who directed the original Kristy Swanson Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie is putting together a Buffy remake. And like I said it’s going to have nothing to do with Joss Whedon or his television show.
According to interviews the target would be to “make a darker, event-sized movie” with “franchise potential" (aka they want money). So far all they have is that the new movie will follow a new slayer and they are hoping this will take Buffy to a new place. The Buffy team for this flick has said they haven’t completely ruled out Joss Whedon’s participation in this movie but first they want to check out other writers and hear other pitches.
While I love Buffy, I mean, I grew up with her, I am not totally loving the idea of a movie. Especially a movie without the cast I love and the writers that made Buffy so popular for it’s “Buffy speak.” I like the idea of us once again having a strong female role model, because that was Joss’ idea behind Buffy, a strong female lead, not a pathetic Mary Sue. I think we do have the need for a new Buffy flick. While my friends and I grew up with Buffy, a strong, fearsome teenage girl growing up and kicking ass all at once. Girls nowadays are obsessing over Twilight and its weak lead Bella, who doesn’t have a single independent thought and requires the men in her life save her every two seconds. So if this movie keeps true to the original Buffy The Vampire Slayer idea, we may have some hope after all. Maybe these girls will see what a real role model is and us fanboy and girls will get our much needed slayer fix.
So far the Buffy remake does not have a writer or a studio, which means fans and future fans will have to wait a while longer for this to happen.

wow i havent seen the buffy vampire series before but i think i saw the movie. If the movie was about Buffy than i LOVE it.
Oh, no, what are they thinking! Buffy without the real cast and without Joss Whedon isn’t Buffy!
I’ve never seen the movie, didn’t even know there was one. Bleh.

they can’t do that it would never be the same adn it would and will suck that’s all there is to it
i remember when the original buffy flick came out and i was quite enthralled by it. i feel that a remake of THAT particular movie would be ok and have nothing to do with the TV series. either way, it’s about vamps, right?

Megsírattuk itt Magyarországon /Budapesten/ Spike halálát, és nagyon sajnáljuk, hogy igy lett vége, és persze azt is, hogy egyáltalán véget ért.

Én azt hiszem nemcsak a közönség miatt,(azért főleg miattunk is)hanem a színészekért is, hogy újra összeálljanak, és ha van kedvük újra együtt játszani, akkor visszamennék addig, hogy : Összedölne az Iskola, hogy ez csak egy rossz álom lenne.
Természetesen Spike és Buffy élné az életét, most már békében, szerelemben és egymással.
Nem hiszem, hogy nem lehetne ezt megcsinálni.
Ha Amerikában(USA) élnék és Producer lennék, már nem is gondolkodnék ezen hanem rögtön finanszíroznám is ennek a költségvetését és összehoznám újra azokat az embereket , akik a 7. évadban (seven season)-ban voltak. De főleg Buffy-t és Spike-ot.
Ennek csak egy rossz álomnak kellett volna lennie, és lám újra forgatna a stáb.

i agree no one can play buffy except sarah michelle gellar, and spike and angel and ughh the whole cast were perfect.. there is no way they could ever make a remake with new characters.. EVER!!
