THE STRAIN – The Video Game

We only have three more weeks to wait until THE STRAIN returns for its third season. I’m really looking forward to it, mourning as I still am the untimely cancellation of PENNY DREADFUL and in need of a vampire fix. That is to say, I’m jonesing for some REAL vampire action. I have no interest in emoting, sensitive bloodsuckers, except for Dracula, and he’s only a little bit sensitive, and he’s such a badass that it doesn’t matter, because he can be sensitive and emotive all the while feeding an infant to his vampire brides. Oh, and Barnabas Collins, but he’s a badass too, and he only becomes sensitive and romantic when ratings dictate. (DARK SHADOWS fans will get what I’m talking about, there.)

Anyway, THE STRAIN. FX is doing its best to pimp the upcoming season, and one of the forms this pimping has taken is the creation of a new video game. Okay, it’s not a real game, not a game you can actually play, unfortunately. It’s a promo, obviously inspired by the video game MORTAL KOMBAT. I wonder why they haven’t made a REAL video game based on the series, though. They make games out of everything else. Battling Strigoi across New York City, pursuing the Master in digital format, sure sounds like a fun time to me. Somebody get on that! We need something to do while we’re waiting on the season premiere!
