‘True Blood’ Casting Has Begun: Meet Eric’s Sister!
Season 4 of True Blood just came to an end not too long ago and the team behind the show is already busy working on Season 5, particularly on the casting for next season. If Season 5 is anything like every other season of True Blood we’re bound to get a whole slew of new characters. So far the one bit of casting news we have received is on one new vampire, a vampire named Nora.
It has been reported that British actress Lucy Griffiths (formerly of BBC's Robin Hood, as you can see in the pictures) has joined the Season 5 cast as Nora, Eric's vampire "sister" (as in her and Eric were both sired by the wonderful and sadly departed Godric). It has been said that Lucy will be a series regular, which means that we will be seeing a lot of her come summer 2012.
Reports describe Lucy's character Nora as "intelligent, intimidating, cool under pressure and a very good liar." Traits that will no doubt come in handy when she goes all double-agent within the Vampire Authority.
It’ll be interesting to see how Nora interacts with not only Eric, but with all the other women in his life, like the now single Sookie and Eric’s wonderfully feisty progeny, Pam. Those ladies already cause him enough trouble, so we’ll just have to see if Nora causes him even more (and she probably will). It’s said Nora cares dearly for Eric, but that she's apparently "dedicated her life to a higher purpose." Hmm…
Luckily we’ll meet Nora very early on, she will first appear in Season 5 episode 1, titled Turn! Turn! Turn!
Although, we may have sorta kinda had a glimpse of Nora in Season 3. In the episode Everything Is Broken we see someone who may be Nora whispering to her colleague during Eric’s interrogation with the Authority. But that’s nothing, Season 5 is where we really meet her.

I don’t think I remember Nora in the series.
Nora is not in the series at all. In fact, Godric wasn’t Eric’s maker in the series either. Eric had a completely different (and in my opinion, much sweeter and heartbreaking) backstory. At this point, the books and show are so different, that you can enjoy one without spoiling the other.
I am interested to see where the show goes. I love some of the new characters, but I’d also like them to spend more time with the originals as well. I’m excited to see the whole Jessica/Jason progression.
