True Blood Sunday Presents: Bisexual Paquin

True Blood Sunday Presents: Bisexual Paquin

Anna Paquin, who plays our beloved Sookie Stackhouse in True Blood, may be a hot little sex kitten in the show, but apparently she’s just as steamy in real life.

In a public service announcement for the True Colors Fund, an organization that supports equal rights for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community, the actress revealed that she's bisexual.

"I'm Anna Paquin. I'm bisexual, and I give a damn," Paquin says in the PSA.

According to a few sources on the set, everyone was surprised when Paquin labeled herself as bisexual. The Oscar winning Canadian actress (The Piano) is currently engaged to Stephen Moyer, who plays Vampire Bill on the show.

The True Colors fund, founded by Cyndi Lauper, is a non-profit organization dedicated "to inspire and engage everyone, particularly the straight community, to become active participants in the advancement of LGBT equality and ensure a strong and vibrant LGBT community."

The Give a Damn campaign nabbed several other celebrities to support the cause, including Margaret Cho, Jason Mraz, Mya, Elton John and Kim Kardashian.

Points for Anna for speaking up for a good cause! But, I am wondering why this story is making such a big splash in the media. In this day and age being bisexual or gay isn’t exactly shocking or surprising, not like it was in past years. But here we are, dozens and dozens of stories all about how shocked people are that Anna Paquin is *gasp* bisexual! Get over it people, it’s 2010, not 1910.

I do admit that my first thought was “please please have girl on girl scenes with Sookie in the show!” Yea… she’s hot, and looks fantastic naked. Don’t tell me you weren’t thinking the same thing.

Lesbian scenes or not, we still love Anna Paquin and give her major props for being part of a great organization like True Colors.
