Vampires Coming to Saints Row: The Third

Vampires are invading yet another video game, this time around it’s the gangster hit Saints Row: The Third. The upcoming DLC, titled The Bloodsucker Pack, is to be released on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Steam, and OnLive “on or around February 28th” for 160 MS Points or $1.99. Check out the details below, as well as a screen shot and trailer.

According to the Saints Row website:

“Screw Team Edward. Wouldn’t you rather be on team of a vampire with dual katanas and a thirst for enemy blood, like our very own vampire-hunter-turned-vampire, Nyte Blayde?

Our newest add-on for Saints Row: The Third, the Bloodsucker Pack, provides you with a brand new ability to latch onto your captives and regain health from sucking their blood, performed by pressing in on the right stick. This pack also comes with other bonuses to keep you in the game, including VIP bonuses for Cash Boosts, Hourly Income, Respect, and the Scavenger ability.”

Here’s a look at Nyte Blayde himself:

The Bloodsucker Pack includes:

  • New Dracula Blood Sucking Skill
  • VIP Cash Boost Bonus
  • VIP Hourly Income Bonus
  • VIP Respect Bonus
  • VIP Scavenger Bonus

Here’s The Bloodsucker Pack trailer:

Saints Row: The Third is the second game to release a vampire DLC recently, the other being inFamous 2. Skyrim also mixed vampires into their gameplay, making them part of the game, not just an add on. It seems like vampires are getting more and more common in big consoles games, unfortunately, no one seems to be willing to make an actual vampire game, just games with minor vampire additions. Boo! Either way, it’s pretty rad that Saints Row is getting some vamps. But here’s hoping that one day we get ourselves a nice big vampire game.

Any Saints Row fans here? Do you plan on buying the vampire DLC?
