A Visit to Transylvania…Louisiana, That Is

Too tiny to be an actual town, the little community of Transylvania, Louisiana has certainly embraced its unique name.

When I visited, there was not a soul in sight. I kid you not. Not a soul. Could the fact that it was a sunny Sunday morning (the only sunny day I got to enjoy the whole time I was visiting Louisiana) at the time have had anything to do with it? With a name like “Transylvania”, I’m betting on it.

I found it!
See the bats in the window of the post office?
Irony?

If I had to guess where all the resident vampires were sleeping the day away, my money would be on the creepy abandoned school building across the street from the town water tower.

Or maybe they’re in the mounds?
