Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter Film Posters Debut

Two brand new posters from the upcoming film adaptation of the best-selling horror mashup, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, have just been released! The posters (see below) are absolutely fantastic, I totally love the style they went with, you can’t help but stare at them.

The Fox film stars Benjamin Walker as an Honest Abe opposite Mary Elizabeth Winstead (as Mary Todd Lincoln), Alan Tudyk (Stephen A. Douglas), Anthony Mackie (William Johnson) and Dominic Cooper (Henry Sturgess).

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter tells the tale of the secret life of our greatest President, and the untold story that shaped our nation. Visionary filmmakers Tim Burton and Timur Bekmambetov (director of Wanted) bring a fresh and visceral voice to the blood-thirsty lore of the vampire, imagining Lincoln as history’s greatest hunter of the undead.

Description:

When young Lincoln learns his mother was murdered by a vampire, he writes in his journal, “henceforth my life shall be one of rigorous study and devotion. I shall become a master of mind and body. And this mastery shall have but one purpose…” Gifted with his legendary height, strength, and skill with an ax, Abe sets out on a path of vengeance that will lead him all the way to the White House.

While Abraham Lincoln is widely lauded for saving a Union and freeing millions of slaves, his valiant fight against the forces of the undead has remained in the shadows for hundreds of years. Until now.

The screenplay is by Seth Grahame-Smith, based on his novel of the same name. Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter opens June 22, 2012.

Here’s a look at the two night and day posters:

Love! I can’t wait for this movie! I loved the book, it was so well written and so believable I actually found myself wondering if maybe Lincoln really did fight vampires. I highly suggest picking this book up before seeing the film in June.

Anyone else excited about this movie?

Moonlight (aka Amanda) loves to write about, read about and learn about everything pertaining to vampires. You will most likely find her huddled over a book of vampire folklore with coffee in hand. Touch her coffee and she may bite you (and not in the fun way).
