Big New Video Game: The Grinder
Finally! Finally a big name vampire video game is coming to the Wii, PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360! Donât get me wrong, those browser games and iPhone games are all well and good but itâs time for a console game. The Grinder is a first-person shooter video game in development by High Voltage Software and is scheduled for release in 2011. Woo!
The Grinder is set in an alternate universe where supernatural beasties such as zombies, vampires and werewolves exist. A small group of monster hunters – Hector, Doc, Miko and AJ are hired by a mysterious organization called âBookâ to exterminate these monstrous threats all while investigating the source of the outbreak. Awesome!
In the game you get to play as one of the four characters, each one has their own unique attributes which can be upgraded as the game progresses. We will also be able to use an assortment of different techniques to defeat foes. On top of that we have access to a large number of weapons, some of which can be dual wielded.
The Grinder was originally set to come out this year just for the Wii, but they pushed the release date back so that they can make versions for PC, PS3 and the 360. The game offers all sorts of goodies and is stated to also support Wii MotionPlus. It has an online multiplayer mode which will make use of the Wii Speak peripheral. As for the online mode, each level can be played cooperatively with support of up to four players simultaneously.
Since they decided to go all out and make The Grinder available on all multiple platforms we have to wait even longer for the game. Booo! It was originally set to come out this past holiday season, but is now set to come out around Halloween in 2011 (the perfect time for a horror game).

Moonlight (aka Amanda) loves to write about, read about and learn about everything pertaining to vampires. You will most likely find her huddled over a book of vampire folklore with coffee in hand. Touch her coffee and she may bite you (and not in the fun way).
