Black Slushies and Candy Corn Beer

I do love this time of year. We get stuff like the Vampire Blood foaming hand soap, available at Bath and Body Works at malls across America, which I talked about last week. And we get all manner of unusual foodstuffs that, were they offered at any other time of year, people would think the establishments serving them had gone insane. Halloween is the only time of the year when it’s okay to be a Horror nerd. It’s even celebrated. It’s just that, for us, it is Halloween every day of the year.

Burger King is now offering “Scary Black Cherry” Slushies. And the Westallion Brewing Company out of West Allis, Wisconsin, is offering a new treat, Candy Corn Cream Ale. Yep, beer that tastes like candy corn. I can’t actually drink either of these concoctions, being diabetic, but if I had to choose I think I’d go with the Slushies. I dig on candy corn, but as a beer? I’m not much of a beer fan anyway, and I can’t imagine putting candy corn in it would improve the taste much.

Has anybody heard if Starbuck’s is offering Frappula again this Halloween season? I wouldn’t be drinking that, either. But I like to know this stuff is around.
