Catching up on my viewing: NEVERKNOCK

I’d say this was a review, but it’s a little late for a review, unless you happen to catch the flick on rerun or they release it on video sometime, which honestly I hope they do, because it’s a nifty little Horror flick. I quite enjoyed it.

The month of October was so insanely busy for me, as it usually is, that I didn’t get the chance to watch many movies. I set the trusty old DVR, though, and recorded a few samplings from the ScyFy network last month. One of those was NEVERKNOCK. Along with THE SANDMAN, which I reviewed here, and STICKMAN, which I have yet to watch, NEVERKNOCK was part of SyFy’s “31 Days of Halloween.” Based on the first two listed–I can’t comment on STICKMAN yet–ScyFy has really stepped up its game with its original movie offerings. THE SANDMAN is great fun, and NEVERKNOCK is even better.

Here’s the skinny: There’s this haunted house, and if you knock on the door, it summons this entity that will kill you. Except it isn’t the house that’s possessed. It’s the DOOR. And simply knocking won’t work. You have to have blood on your hand when you knock. Then the door will drink up the blood and the Neverknock, which looks like it could be The Sandman’s brother, appears. It takes on the form of whatever you’re most afraid of, kinda like IT does. As with the previously mentioned THE SANDMAN, there could be franchise potential, here.
