Charisma Carpenter Speaks about the Good Ol’ Buffy Days

I’m a hardcore Buffy and Angel fangirl, I have a undying love for the incredible shows created by the brilliant Joss Whedon. So, it goes without saying that I was pretty geeked when SmallScreenScoop.com did an interview Charisma Carpenter on her days playing the feisty Cordelia.

For those of you that don’t spend much time on Twitter, the site is FULL of celebs who are constantly posting pictures, videos and more of their time on and off set. It’s an awesome treat for the fans and stalkers around the world. In the interview with Charisma, SmallScreenScoop brought up Twitter and asked her what season of either show (she was on both Angel and Buffy) she wishes she could have tweeted during. She answered that it would have been Buffy the Vampire Slayer season 3, right before she headed over to Angel.

She talked about the game-changing Graduation Day episodes, how she would have had so much news to share, all the kooky stuff “we” wore, the resolution of relationships and more. She even spoke proudly about the first time Cordelia dusted a vampire after so many years of being a whiny damsel in distress. Charisma also said it would have been fun to take pictures on the set with all of the bizarre demons running around.

“On Buffy we were on a specific lot we called ‘Whedon World’ – not a Fox or Paramount Lot. We had our own world going on.”

She also has lots of love for her time on Angel. Saying it would have been fun to tweet during her time there too.

“Angel would have been fun too, especially when Andy Hallet was around.”

I would have loved to see set photos of Andy Hallet, who played Lorne. He was one of my favorite characters on Angel. R.I.P. Andy.

Like every Buffy cast member, Charisma was also asked about the Buffy remake, which she answered, “My feeling is… to do it without Joss is really disappointing. I feel it would do more harm to the franchise than good. Or maybe not. But it doesn’t make much sense without any of the key players involved. Why call it Buffy? They should just call it something else.”

That remake should not be made (grrrrrrrr). Anyway, I love hearing from Buffy actors and actresses. They should be interviewed more often!

  3. I remember seeing a green screen audition type thing with Charisma Carpenter, for Buffy. I tried to find it just now on YouTube, but no luck. :( If anyone else has seen it and could find it, maybe posting it here would be cool for others.
