Christmas and Vampires

…because nothing says Christmas like blood-sucking creatures of the night. Well, ok maybe not. But bookstores say otherwise, after checking out all the seasonal displays I was surprised at how many vampire Christmas books there are. Seriously, there are a lot, see for yourself.

Christmas with a Vampire by Merline Lovelace, Lori Devoti, Linda Winstead Jones and Lisa Childs
This newly released anthology features five sexy vampire stories set in a winter wonderland. Vampires, sex and Christmas – what better way to celebrate the holidays? Plus, it’s an anthology, so if one story sucks you always have others to make up for it.

All I Want for Christmas Is a Vampire by Kerrelyn Sparks
This Christmas book is about Toni, a woman whose life isn’t exactly full of holiday cheer. Her best friend’s been locked up in a mental hospital ever since she told the police she was attacked by vampires, and the only way for Toni to get her out is to prove that bloodsuckers really do exist. So she takes a job as a bodyguard for the Undead, but she gets more than she bargained for, especially when she meets the sexy Ian MacPhie. One forbidden kiss could lead to an eternity of passion – and all it takes is one moment under the mistletoe.

The Vampire’s Christmas by Joseph Michael Linsner
One of the few vampire Christmas books that isn’t a romance novel! Even better, it’s a badass graphic novel! In this tale it’s Christmas time, the time when all dreams come true. What do vampires dream of? Blood, of course. Lots of it. Esque, the vampire, is no different, but in Santa’s eyes he’s been more naughty than nice. During his hunt on Christmas Eve, he encounters junkies, pedophiles, goth chicks, and the scariest of them all – holiday shoppers. Everyone’s hustling for that last-minute score, and amidst the snow and carols, who knows what Esque might find?

The Bite Before Christmas by Heidi Betts
This is a collection of Betts’ holiday novellas – featuring All I Vant For Christmas, A Vampire in Her Stocking and It’s A Wonderful Bite. Three stories of hot vampire romance in a holiday setting.

The Vampire’s Christmas (Vampire’s Adventures) by Willis Hall
A children’s book about the world’s only vegetarian vampire, who looks as if he is going to have a lonely Christmas in a luxury hotel, until he finds himself in another scrape.

Christmas Coffin by Michelle Lundy
The book is about the Noel family, who on Christmas Eve receive a mysterious knock at the door and the strangest gift is left in the embankment of their front lawn. Stuck in the snow at the end of the driveway, they find a coffin decorated with a big red bow and a note that simply reads “Merry Christmas.”

Tis’ the season for vampires!

And believe it or not, I didn’t cover even half of the Christmas vampire books! 99.9% are romances with nearly the same premise, so I figured it would be pointless to mention every single one. But if you’re interested, go to Amazon.com and search for vampires and Christmas.

Moonlight (aka Amanda) loves to write about, read about and learn about everything pertaining to vampires. You will most likely find her huddled over a book of vampire folklore with coffee in hand. Touch her coffee and she may bite you (and not in the fun way).
