I know it’s hard to believe that there could be commercials that AREN’T obnoxious and DON’T annoy me, or you, or anybody else who doesn’t work for an advertising agency, but such things actually do exist. Around this glorious time of year—I speak, of course, of Halloween season—we tend to get the bulk of them. There are a couple that are making the rounds right now that I dig. I thought I’d share them with you all, in case you haven’t seen them yourselves.
Party City has several Halloween-themed commercials, but this one, entitled “The Way You Look Tonight,” is my favorite. Not just because it has a werewolf in it, either, or zombies. I just think it’s cute. Then there’s this one from some cellphone company, featuring a couple of zombies falling in love and taking selfies together. I’m not sure what it says about me that I find the zombie girl kinda hot. That smoldering, coy, come-hither look. Tell me she’s not kinda sexy.
My favorite of all Halloween commercials, though, is this one from a few years back, when Walgreens was running their “Perfect” series of advertisements. Do you remember this one? It’s the music that makes it. Sounds like it came from a Tim Burton movie.
