DARK SHADOWS or PEANUTS?
I love this. Love it, love it, love it. Thanks to the Collinsport Historical Society for bringing it into my world. Now I’m bringing it into yours. No need to thank me. If you must thank someone, thank them.
Fans of the original DARK SHADOWS probably will agree with me that the character Roger Collins not infrequently had some of the most unintentionally hilarious lines, not only in the history of the series, but in the history of television. That may be a tad hyperbolas, but there were numerous times when watching the series where I had to pause the video to stop laughing, lest my teary eyes prevent me from clearly seeing the TV screen and my guffawing keep me from hearing what was being said, after something Roger, in his stodgy Old Southern/almost British accent, opined.
As this post proves, you can easily substitute many of Roger’s quotes with quotes from Linus in the PEANUTS comic strip. The two characters also have other similarities that had never occurred to me. (Overpowering older sisters, for example.) See if you can figure out who recited the following lines, Linus or Roger. I think I know the answers for most of them, but a couple have me stumped.
