I’m tired. But it’s a good kind of tired. This past weekend saw the closing of the second run of my original play, DRACULA: LORD OF THE VAMPIRES. It ran for an entire month and played at two separate locations. Thirteen performances in all. It was a lot of work–a LOT of work–and a big investment of time. (Not only did I write the script, but in true Ed Woodian fashion I also directed and produced the show.) But it was so worth it. The work put out by my cast and crew, those who comprise, along with my lovely better half and myself, our production company, EVIL CHEEZ PRODUCTIONS, was top-notch all the way through.
If you build it, they will come, right? Well, we built it–the show–and people came. Audience attendance was strong, and audience reaction was even stronger. It is not an understatement that people loved this show.
To all theater groups out there, thinking of staging a production featuring Dracula, I submit to you that the script for DRACULA: LORD OF THE VAMPIRES is as good as any that are available for performance rights purchase from any of the major publishing houses–and superior to many. If you don’t believe it, please, call me out on it. I’m that comfortable in my abilities. Unlike all those other versions, however, I am willing to allow other theater companies to perform the play ROYALTY FREE, in exchange for the publicity. Anyone interested can contact me for details.
I hope you enjoy these photos from the production. There will be more to come!
Bravo- and brava to the ladies. Where were the performances? I heard nothing about them locally and suspect they were far far away.
Cheers,
LadyG
