aSoVampire AMAZONCan you tell us a little about A Shade of Vampire?
A Shade of Vampire is my debut release. It was published December 14, 2012 and became the #1 Christmas Bestseller in Vampire Romance, Paranormal & Fantasy on Amazon.

Synopsis: “On the evening of Sofia Claremont’s seventeenth birthday, she is sucked into a nightmare from which she cannot wake.  A quiet evening walk along a beach brings her face to face with a dangerous pale creature that craves much more than her blood. She is kidnapped to an island where the sun is eternally forbidden to shine. An island uncharted by any map and ruled by the most powerful vampire coven on the planet. She wakes here as a slave, a captive in chains. Sofia’s life takes a thrilling and terrifying turn when she is the one selected out of hundreds of girls to join the harem of Derek Novak, the dark royal Prince. Despite his addiction to power and obsessive thirst for her blood, Sofia soon realizes that the safest place on the island is within his quarters, and she must do all within her power to win him over if she is to survive even one more night. Will she succeed? …or is she destined to the same fate that all other girls have met at the hands of the Novaks?”

How does A Shade of Vampire differ from other novels about vampires?
Because I wrote it, this is a hard question for me to answer without feeling like I’m bragging. But I’ve been told by my take on vampires is fresh and original. For example, they live in tree houses atop giant redwood trees.

What inspired you to write about vampires?
I find the interaction between vampires and humans fascinating to explore.

What is one thing you would like people to take away from their experience of reading A Shade of Vampire?
Primarily, I want my story and characters to invoke emotions in readers that last long after they turn the final page.

Who’s your favorite fictitious vampire (other than your own)?
It’s got to be Dracula himself!

Tell our readers why they should check out your book – in 3 words: (bwahaha)
“Avatar meets vampires.” – according to one of the book’s reviews!

And finally, what other projects are you currently working on? Any goodies we should watch out for?
I’m currently working on the sequel to A Shade of Vampire!

By Moonlight

Moonlight (aka Amanda) loves to write about, read about and learn about everything pertaining to vampires. You will most likely find her huddled over a book of vampire folklore with coffee in hand. Touch her coffee and she may bite you (and not in the fun way).
