Whether you’re a fan of the original Being Human or the American remake I’ve got great news for all of you! Both shows will be back for another season! BBC’s Being Human, which is currently on its fourth season, has been renewed for a fifth season. The awesome show, about a vampire, a ghost, and a werewolf who are roommates, is still a big hit despite losing two of its three main characters prior to Season 4. But that’s not all the Being Human news, it was also announced that the American version, which airs on SyFy, has been renewed for a third season. Yay!
The show, which centers around a vampire, a werewolf, and a ghost living together, lost its original vampire and werewolf, leaving only ghost Lenora Crichlow. But adding regular guest werewolf Michael Socha to the main cast and then adding Damien Molony as the new vampire worked out perfectly. The fourth season opener brought in 1.2 million viewers in the UK (four times the number that watched True Blood’s British premiere, which aired the same night). “It’s always very sad when we lose characters,” creator and executive producer Toby Whithouse said. “But it’s never terminal. To use our own mythology: As one door closes, another door opens.”
Whithouse also confirmed that both Michael Socha and Damien Molony have already signed on for season 5, so we’ll being seeing much more of this werewolf and vampire.
Like every show, SyFy renewed Being Human for a third season because of it amazing ratings. So far, Season 2 has seen double-digit percentage growth over the first season. One huge stat change was that 52 percent of the audience is female, according to Syfy, making it the most popular program among women in the history of the network.
So much good news! Which show are you more excited about – the original or the remake? I’m happier about the SyFy version being renewed, I like it much better than the original.
