FOREVER KNIGHT and WINTERSKIN
I understand that there’s a responsibility that comes with this job. It is my job to report on things that are, or I think would be, of interest to you, the readers, not just to talk about things that are of interest to *me*. In most cases, those two things are one and the same. There are rare exceptions. I must needs talk about a certain movie franchise from time to time, one involving beings that are billed as “vampires” and that sparkle in the sunlight, not because I have any interest in the subject—I do not—but because there is a percentage of our readership who do. In that vein, I never got into FOREVER KNIGHT back in the 90s. I watched a few episodes and for whatever reasons it never did anything for me. Still, the news that the series is going to be released on DVD will be received with enthusiasm by some of you. It has been available on DVD already, but in three sets. All three seasons will be collected in one handy package available from Mill Creek Entertainment this summer.
As for things that *are* of interest to *me*, WINTERSKIN, releasing on video on May 21st, looks promising. It is described as MISERY except with a monster thrown in the mix. “Gunned down in the snowy wilderness and desperate for shelter, Billy Cavanagh is taken in by kooky old lady Agnes, unaware that her isolated log cabin is being stalked by a bloodthirsty skinless creature hellbent on getting inside.” I’ll give it a go. You?
