real vampires, vampire games and tv shows, movies or films, and vampire books

It sure didn’t come as a surprise to me, and it shouldn’t have to you, either, if you’ve been regularly following this site. While sites devoted solely to monitoring the ratings of television shows had predicted THE PASSAGE was likely for renewal, I predicted otherwise. After all, the show was airing on Fox. I don’t know if *any* good show has much of a chance at surviving on Fox. They have to feed the masses, appeal to the lowest common denominator.

That last hour killed us. The second half of the two-part finale. It’s ratings were the lowest of the entire season. The show was balanced right on the pinnacle of the pyramid for cancellation or renewal, and that ratings drop there at the end pushed it over in the wrong direction.

At least the series finale provided something in the way of a resolution. At least we got ten episodes of quality amidst a flowing sewer of mindless drudgery. At least I’ve got WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS to fill the void, and PROJECT BLUE BOOK got renewed for a second season, too.

Oh, and at least now I never have to watch Fox again. Ever.

If you loved THE PASSAGE and you’re pissed that Fox did this, know how you can get back at them? It’s simple, it’s legal, and it’s guaranteed effective.
