I’ve got quite a tasty treat for you my lovelies, for this review and giveaway isn’t like the others. A Silver Kiss by Dianna Hardy is no ordinary vampire book, instead of being another cliché novel, it’s a collection of enthralling poetry about our favorites creatures of the night. The best part is that two of you have the chance to win a signed copy (see details below)!
“A dark and daring addition to the literary world of vampirism, this is a collection of rhyming and freestyle poetry that explores the often taboo themes of power, possession and seduction. Emotionally charging, each poem is written from a different perspective, be it the hunter or the hunted and inspires a deeper look into the psychology of the human mind and the darker aspects of human relationships and society.”
A Silver Kiss is an excellent collection of dark and often twisted poetry. Hardy’s verses delve deep into the psyche of vampires, their victims, their hunters and their lovers, giving readers an enthralling look at these nocturnal beings. The collection awakens a wide assortment of emotions, some good and some not so good. But while some of the poems leave you with an intense feeling of horror, the fact that they make you feel at all is a testament of the poet’s talent. It takes a level of skill to cause a reaction in your readers, and Hardy has that down.
One of my favorite lines:
“One brief second, my soul
remembered, one second, an aeon,
her soul… gone.”
