Gummy Brains and Haunted Hooch

It just does my heart good to see all things Halloweeny popping up everywhere at this time of year. Summer is over, and I always have a brief bout of depression kick in. Knowing that I have Halloween to look forward to sure helps. (This year, knowing that I have a vaccine to look forward to as well—please, God—helps, too. We need to get back to normal life!) Halloween-themed specialty stores are back open, the classic Boo Berry, Frankenberry, and Count Chocula cereals are on the shelves at grocery stores, and yards nationwide are being decorated with fake cobwebs, orange string lights, and plastic skeletons. I love it. It nurtures my soul.

Here’s a perfect example: two Halloween-themed drinks available from Appleby’s. For just five smackers, you can order and swill either a Tipsy Zombie (served with a squishy gummy brain!) or a Dracula’s Juice—or both! (Just don’t drive if you’ve had too much. Safety first!) Yes, I will be making a trip to an Appleby’s especially to partake of both of these drinks—and I don’t even drink! For these, I’ll make an exception. I’ll order one and get my significant other to order the other one, and then we’ll swap out so I can enjoy both.
