A special “extended cut” of the film will be released digitally on December 13th, and one can assume when the DVD and Blu-Ray release rolls out the second week of January 2022 it will include this extra material. (It’d better, or Ima do a lotta bitchin’, and I’ll write bad things about ‘em here on this site.) Part of this new material is an alternate (i.e. extended) ending. This ending is also featured in the official novelization of the movie.
Wanna know how the extended ending goes? According to the novelization, after Michael kills Karen, her cellphone rings and Michael answers it. It’s Laurie, calling from the hospital. Figuring out what’s happened to her daughter, she threatens to come after Michael. Then the scene ends. Sounds groovy.
In addition to the novelization, there’s a new HALLOWEEN KILLS coloring book, also currently available. It’s relatively cheap if you want to pick up a copy. (Relative to how much these adult coloring books typically cost, that is.) The artwork looks pretty rad. I’ll probably buy it. I don’t know as I’ll take any colored pencils to it, though. Eh, they’re not too pricey. Maybe I’ll get one for collector’s purposes and one to color in.
