Help Out Denise Nickerson

“There is nothing more sad or glorious than generations changing hands.” – John Mellencamp

It’s strange to contemplate, for me. For me, Denise Nickerson will always be the little girl on DARK SHADOWS, perpetually young, cute, chipper, innocent. Reading accounts of her being a pintsized chain-smoker sucking up nicotine during every scene break of the groundbreaking ABC daytime series never altered that view of her, not for me. It’s weird to ponder that the talented little girl who portrayed Amy Jennings, Nora Collins, and Amy Collins on DARK SHADOWS and Violet in WILLY WONKA AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY grew up, grew older. But she did.

Denise Nickerson recently suffered a severe stroke. The full severity of it is still not known, but even the best-case scenarios don’t look promising. Denise’s son and daughter-in-law are facing a crisis that is both personal and financial, and they need your help. There’s nothing any of us can do for Denise, short of offering prayers, but we can at least assist her family. A PayPal account has been set up where people can make donations to go towards Denise’s mounting medical bills. Please consider making a donation. There is no minimum amount that must be accumulated, nor a minimum donation requirement. Even a single dollar would be useful—and just think if everyone reading this were to donate just one single dollar.
