I know it’s terrible dudes, but I keep thinking of that cartoon, Captain Planet –you know, “When your powers combine… I am Captain Planet!” So when Alice Cooper, Johnny Depp, and Joe Perry got together, did they combine their powers with rings, like Johnny Depp got up and shouted, “Money!”, Alice Cooper shouts, “Talent!” and then Joe Perry shouts “Luck!” and then Phil Spector shimmers into existence with a fountain pen and a stack of paperwork, and shouts back, “I didn’t kill my girlfriend! Want a record deal?!”
The whole “Supergroup” thing would sound like a publicity stunt to me if these guys weren’t known for being like, notoriously mellow. Johnny Depp could film himself taking a shit and it would make millions, and Alice Cooper could sing a song about it, and have the same results. Joe Perry could play bass for Johnny Depp’s farts, and the whole project would make music video history. So yeah. These guys are probably getting together out of love for the music, and it’s hard to be anything but cool with that. I look forward to the rise of Hollywood Vampires.
