HORRIFIED: The Universal Monsters Board Game

Board games are back in style, big time. Were they ever really out of style? No. But more and more we’re seeing board games hit the market designed for the more mature player. Classics like CANDYLAND and MONOPOLY will never go out of vogue, but nowadays we have games like ARKHAM HORROR and SMALLWORLD. (I just bought these two games. I have a friend who has a ton of such games and, desiring more space in her home, she was willing to part with them at a bargain basement price.) Board games for grownups are all the rage these days.

Here’s one I need. It’s called HORRIFIED: UNIVERSAL MONSTERS and it’s a strategy game wherein two to five players (aged ten or older!) must defend their village from an attack by ALL the classic Universal Monsters (with the exception, for some reason, of the Phantom of the Opera): Dracula, Frankenstein and his Bride, the Wolfman, the Mummy, the Invisible Man, and even the Creature from the Black Lagoon. And it comes with sculpted miniature figures of each of them! That alone makes it worth the thirty-five bucks price tag. The game will hit shelves (and Amazon) in August. Just take my money!
