‘I, Vampire’ Release Dates Announced

A few months back I wrote about DC Comics’ giant reboot, the project that was seeing 52 brand new #1 issues of classic comics with all new artists and writers. On that long list of upcoming comics is I, Vampire, and at long last we have more news on the fangtastic comic – like new artwork, the storyline and release dates. Woot!

According to DC’s official website, the first of three brand new I, Vampire issues is coming out this month! September 28 to be exact. Issue #2 will be out October 26 and Issue #3 will be November 16.

Many of you are probably wondering what the hell I, Vampire is about, well, here are the plot descriptions for each issue (Warning: there are minor spoilers in 2 and 3):

Issue # 1
“For hundreds of years, vampire Andrew Stanton kept mankind safe from the horrors of the supernatural world, thanks to a truce he made with his ex-lover Mary, the Queen of the Damned. But now that truce has reached a bloody end and Andrew must do everything in his power to stop Mary and her dark forces from going on a killing spree – and she plans to start with the heroes of the DCU!”

Issue # 2
“True love becomes divine hatred between the Queen of Blood and Andrew, as her vampires begin their attacks across the country. Their past behind them, they find themselves ready to battle to the death… If those feelings really are all gone. Surrounded by swarms of bloodthirsty vamps, Andrew must confront his immortal beloved in a blood-soaked battle he can’t win.”

Issue # 3
“Across the country, bodies litter the streets as the Queen of Blood builds her army. A weakened Andrew must seek the aid of an old ally, but the game of death has a new wild card who may help Andrew tip the balance of power – or decapitate him.”

What do you think? Do you plan on picking up this comic or will you pass? I totally plan on buying this one, so expect a review in the not too distant future.

Moonlight (aka Amanda) loves to write about, read about and learn about everything pertaining to vampires. You will most likely find her huddled over a book of vampire folklore with coffee in hand. Touch her coffee and she may bite you (and not in the fun way).
