The Season Four premiere of True Blood is quickly approaching and to get bloodthirsty fans excited the network has created an interactive Facebook app for all the Truebies out there. The new app, titled Immortalize Yourself, allows you to create an exclusive True Blood Season Four interactive video starring you, your friends, and your favorite characters. Let the video creating addiction begin!
To access the new app, visit True Blood’s Facebook Page, “Like” it, and navigate to the “Immortalize” tab over on the left. When you click on “Make Your Video,” the app will ask for permission and then it will pull info about you and your Facebook friends to make a lil’ teaser in which you are the star. Your friend’s photos are also included in the video, they can be found in everything from missing persons’ files, to applications for exotic dancers (hahaha) and you become a badass assassin working for the vamps.
After watching this first version containing random Facebook friends, you can then create your own teaser, including friends of your choice. Once you make your video you can show it off to everyone, well, everyone who “likes” the True Blood Facebook page.
Gil Wolchock, director of client services at Definition 6, who worked with HBO on the app, says the project was inspired by a video promotion that came out last year called “Lost in Val Sinestra”, which was an interactive trailer that pulled in your Facebook friends.
Wolchock said that the teaser itself was written by the True Blood team, and that it picks up where season three left off.
“It’s a very rabid fan base,” Wolchock says of the show’s following. “Anything that comes up that’s True Blood-related, they soak that up. We wanted to give them something that they would not only watch once, but that they would share with their friends.”
“What fans really want is to be a part of the show,” said Sabrina Caluori, director of social media and marketing at HBO, of this year’s campaign. “[So the teaser] had to have the production quality that the series does. We really wanted to make sure that it felt like you were in the episode.”
What do you True Blood fans think? Have you given the new app a shot yet? If so, did it really make you feel like you were in the show? Did you have fun with it? Let us know in a comment below.

I LOVED it!!!! It was HILARIOUS because the first time I did it, it was all randomized so the first “dancer” that was applying at Fangtasia was my MOM!!!! hahahaha! I laughed SO HARD! Also, considering the fact that I LOVE ERIC/ALEXANDER SKARSGARD!!!! I loved how I was his newest asset. =P
Best promotion tool…thing ever! haha =D
