I was contacted by representatives of novelist Alistair Cross (Cool name, dude, though I doubt it’s the one you were born with.) asking me if I’d be interested in conducting an interview with him. Amused at how the roles have flip-flopped (having spent so much time as an author myself, trying to get people to publicize ME), I was happy to oblige. The full interview is available on my blog at the link above. Check it out, and if you like the sound of Alistair’s work, check that out, too.
What I found most intriguing about Mr. Cross is that, in addition to being a writer, he hosts, along with fellow author and writing partner Tamara Thorne (another catchy name that probably isn’t on any birth certificate), a weekly Internet radio show dedicated to all things Horror and paranormal. On the show, Mr. Cross gets to play the interviewer, and boasts among those he’s entertained as guests a veritable who’s who of modern Horror fiction writers. I admit I’m a little jealous. But let us get to the big question: do Alistair’s vampires SPARKLE? His work sounds a little more TRUE BLOOD than TWILIGHT, thankfully, and he assures us that he respects the vampire’s “fundamental integrity” and that he doesn’t geld them of their much-needed sense of “menace.” Okay, I’m gonna trust you on that one, Alistair.
