One of the upcoming productions that has me sorta excited is called BLOOD RED SKY. It’s a German film that could honestly have been called VAMPIRES ON A PLANE. It looks good, though. No, scratch that. It looks *really* good. Alas it’s going straight to livestreaming courtesy of Netflix, so I’m not sure when I’ll get to see it. Dammit.
Here’s the synopsis: “Nadja and her ten-year-old son are on an overnight flight from Germany to New York when a group of terrorists violently take control of the plane and threaten the lives of the passengers. Suddenly Nadja faces an impossible choice – should she reveal her dark side and the inner monster she has kept hidden from her son for years in order to save him?”
So Nadja is really a vampire. Okay. It’s a little bit like DIE HARD then, too, except with a vampire in the Bruce Willis role, and taking place in an airliner instead of a skyscraper. And the look of the vampire puts me in mind of the Strigoi from THE STRAIN, which astute readers will remember also started onboard an airplane.
You lucky sunsabeeches who can livestream look for BLOOD RED SKY to become available on July 23. Y’all let me know if it lives up to its promising premise.
Ironic to see a vampire in the role of a “good guy” (or In Nadja’s case “good gal”)!
Totally. I dig it.
