The FEAR STREET movies are on Netflix, which means I can’t see them (where I live, it’s impossible for me to livestream; I have to get my Internet feed via satellite, and it’s metered, and watching video eats up the allotted amount in no time, and when my allotted amount is up for the month, the Internet slows to such a crawl that I might as well not have it, and besides which, the feed is so unreliable that watching an entire program beginning to end is damn near impossible, anyway) which means I haven’t paid much attention to them. I know they just did a second one, I think, and that the kid who plays Max on STRANGER THINGS is in it. Then I read that it was filmed at Camp Daniel Morgan at Hard Labor Creek State Park near Rutledge, Georgia, the same place where FRIDAY THE 13TH PART VI: JASON LIVES and my interest was piqued, considering I visited “Camp Forest Green” aka “Crystal Lake” not too long ago myself.
Then I read that it wasn’t actually filmed at the same place, but at the nearby Camp Rutledge. Hmmm. Interesting.
So what do you think? The photo on the left is a screenshot from the Jason movie (and I can verify that it was filmed at Camp Daniel Morgan). The one on the right is from the new FEAR STREET movie. They look pretty dang similar to me. To be fair, I didn’t visit Camp Rutledge during my visit, so it’s possible the two sites look much the same. This bears further investigation.
