It’s a Mystery

Y’know, every time I see or hear the word “mystery” the song from Dio pops into my head. It’s off his THE LAST IN LINE album. Good stuff if you’ve never checked it out. But this isn’t a music site and it isn’t really germane to the subject of this article, so I’ll plug it and move on.

I received an offer in our email to try out a case from the ARCHIVE OF UNSOLVED MYSTERIES. This is one of those deals where you can sign yourself up, or sign someone else up as a gift for them (a nifty idea for that person who is impossible to shop for; we all know at least one person like that; I’m married to one), and then you, or they, start receiving pieces of a puzzle, clues to a mystery (there’s that Dio song again), installments of a story. You get to see if you can figure it out by the time the mailings conclude, when you are sent a small present. You get faux police reports, witness statements, medical exam reports, and handwritten notes. I don’t want to say much about my mystery. I don’t know if they use the same ones over, and I wouldn’t want to spoil it for anyone who might try it. Suffice it to say that my particular mystery was well suited to my personal tastes. And yes, I did figure it out.

The final present arrived in a lovely little package. I’ll show you the package but not the gift, aka “artifact”, itself. Again, because I don’t want to give anything away.

I recommend the ARCHIVE OF UNSOLVED MYSTERIES as a gift-giving option, or just as a treat for yourself. It’s a lot of fun. Check it out here.
