Joss Whedon Never Says ‘Never’ When It Comes to Buffy the Vampire Slayer Movie

Joss Whedon has refused to rule out a ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ movie. The 50-year-old director – who created the American television series, which ran from 1997 until 2003 – has not dismissed the idea totally, but says his immediate priority…

He never gives any definite answers, is why this is so frustrating. He worked on the new Avengers movie, and now he’s basically exhausted, and wants to go back, and edit the thing, making it gleaming, shiny, and perfect in its many explosions. But, instead, he knows his mind and body need a serious rest after all that hectic work, so he’s kicking back after the film is finished. He says he thinks more could be done to it, but honestly, I think that’s just a lot of feigned insecurity. He knows he’s awesome.

Besides, fanboys are practically exploding all over themselves in anticipation. But the rest of us, the hardcore vampire fans among us, have been asking for a while now about a remake. Either a film remake, or a TV show reboot, either one would be interesting. A lot of people don’t agree… Sadly, many among us Buffy fans believe that a remake/reboot would ruin the first show, or the first movie. I don’t think either of them would be tainted, I think a redo on either the movie or the series would open up Buffy to a whole new generation of fans, who’ll love it just as much as we do.

  1. I would definitely like to see a reboot of the series or a movie in the future. I’ve been thinking about this lately….If Buffy the Vampire Slayer were done today, it would have to be a lot different. A bit darker, a little more realistic (if that’s possible when dealing with vampire stories…I REALLY hate it when they come out with a vampire movie, film or book and say “oh, we’re trying to make vampires realistic with this”.). Well it there is a reboot or movie it would have to be handled extremely carefully. I mean, have you seen the recent From Dusk Till Dawn TV series?? My God, IT’S TERRIBLE!!!
