Ke$ha’s New Single About Vampires?

Apparently trashy party girl Ke$ha has a song about vampires. Yup, the singer wrote on her Twitter that her new single “Take It Off” is about a vampire party.

“guys!!!!!!!!!!!!! new single “take it off” is out….. its about vampire party sweet ass fun times …. and gettin nekked. win. win,” the grammar challenged singer tweeted July 25 of the track from her debut album, Animal.

Ok ok, I admit “Take It Off” is a fun dance song, I loved it when I first heard it, but out of all the times I have listened to it, not once did I think of vampires. No, I assumed the song was about a strip club, not about vampires. Actually, I still think it’s about a strip club and that Ke$ha is pulling yet another one of her lame publicity stunts (she does that a lot). I love her music, but my goodness is she annoying.

But I’ll let you guys decide, check out the lyrics and the song and let me know if you think it’s about vampires or not.

The song and lyrics:

There’s a place downtown,
Where the freaks all come around.
It’s a hole in the wall.
It’s a dirty free for all.

When the dark
Of the night comes around.
That’s the time,
That the animal comes alive.
Looking for
Something wild.

And now we lookin’ like pimps
In my gold Trans-Am.
Got a water bottle full of whiskey
In my handbag.
Got my drunk text on
I’ll regret it in the mornin’
But tonight
I don’t give a
I don’t give a
I don’t give a

There’s a place downtown,
Where the freaks all come around.
It’s a hole in the wall.
It’s a dirty free for all.

And they turn me on.
When they Take It Off.
When they Take It Off.
Everybody Take It Off.

There’s a place I know
If you’re looking for a show.
Where they go hardcore
And there’s glitter on the floor.

And they turn me on.
When they Take It Off.
When they Take It Off.
Everybody Take It Off.

Lose your mind.
Lose it now.
Lose your clothes
In the crowd.
We’re delirious.
Tear it down
‘Til the sun comes back around.

N-now we’re getting so smashed.
Knocking over trash cans.
Eurbody breakin’ bottles
It’s a filthy hot mess.
Gonna get faded
I’m not the designated driver so
I don’t give a
I don’t give a
I don’t give a

[Chorus repeated]

Moonlight (aka Amanda) loves to write about, read about and learn about everything pertaining to vampires. You will most likely find her huddled over a book of vampire folklore with coffee in hand. Touch her coffee and she may bite you (and not in the fun way).

  1. The lines “Till the sun comes back around” and “Where the freaks all come around” may be the vampire hinting lines. She’s probably referring to vampires as “freaks” [insulting much?! haha] and then the one sun line. haha In my opinion, I could probably do this same thing for any song. Find certain vampirific-ish lines and make EVERY song be about vampires. haha But I agree, it’s probably just a stunt, but I like the song. haha

  2. Pingback: vampires
  3. Mmm doesn’t seem convincing to me, most taboo things are done during dark hours. So yeah, probably just a stunt, oh well. I’ll have to check into her music if it’s good.
